Mr. Shawne, or Sun Gao in Chinese Pinyin, pen-named Ban Mo(literal meaning Half Ink), whose study is named after the pen name, and also Room of Snow Listening. Born in Taihe County, Anhui Province (in Southeastern China), he now travels frequently between Anhui and Beijing, the capital city of China.

Mr. Sun has published dozens of novels and collection of essays, and won the major national awards for child literature and prizes from Taiwan over a dozen times. His publications include: Lhasa Rock n Roll (novel), Lhasa Young Men (novel), Men and Women (short story collection), Couldn't be More Strange in a Small Town, Sweet Love (essays), Scenery at the Age of 15 (child stories), etc.

As a versatile writer, he is also a master of traditional Chinese painting. His works are widely displayed in national painting exhibitions and art galleries in Beijing, Shanghai, and etc. His critics on calligraphy and paintings are published in major journals in China, such as Literature Newspaper, Art World, Art Times, Oriental Culture Weekly, and etc. His critics are also collection in the book Words on Ink Paintings.
